I love to use ribbon to inspire the color combinations for a card. This time I set out to design a baby card that would be appropriate for either a boy or girl and this gentle colored ribbon from the Sweet Shop collection seemed perfect for the "task" at hand.
The ribbon features the colors Apricot Appeal, Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery. I used Apricot Appeal Craft ink to stamp the Flannel Plaid and Print Pattern on the Apricot and Celery cardstock, respectively. The craft ink gives a truer color when you are stamping on colored cardstock. You can read a little more about this on a post I did in January, The Joy of Craft Ink. I used coordinating markers to ink the words from That's Nice and layered an Apricot Appeal button on circles punched with 3/4 " and 1 1/4" punches. The ribbon is knoted once and then attached securely to the back of the layer. This gives a really nice accent with only about 3 1/2 inches of ribbon per card. I was rationing it because I needed to make 13 for a swap. I made it, but just barely!
I hope your weekend is off to a good start and thanks for checking my blog!
