I still have a few details to work out but I've got the minimum photo editing I need! It feels so good to have my MacBook compatible with my blog.
This is the card I brought to a shoebox swap at the first session of convention. I'll edit later to add the directions which are on the old computer. Talk about last minute. I was all set to do my Baroque Motifs trees until less than a day before I left when one of my stamp club members, Dawn, was visiting and helped me fiddle around with this idea. After several attempts to use newer stamps for the background I finally gave up and used good ol' Flannel Plaid which was perfect.
Edited to add:
Supplies:
Stamps: Canvas, Flannel
Plaid, Outlined for Fun
Ink: Blue Brocade, So
Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Timber Brown Stazon, Versamarker and Versamark
Papers: So Saffron,
Brocade Blue, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron Designer Series
Accessories: 5 Petal punch, ¾” circle punch, sponges, Blue
Brocade 5/8” grosgrain, Clear embossing powder, clear embossing powder.
- Stamp 51/4” x 4” piece of Blue Brocade with Flannel Plaid in Blue Brocade ink, mount on So
Saffron card and set aside.
- Tear 4”x 2 ¾” piece of Wild Wasabi in half diagonally – it will look better if the tear isn’t too
straight. Sponge the edges all the way around with Wild Wasabi ink. Adhere the two pieces together to form green “hills”. - Stamp “hello” in Brown Stazon on the piece that you will layer on top – see card. Color the
“hello” with the Versamarker. - Punch an opening with the slot punch in the left side of your “hills” and tie the ribbon here.
Attach the hills to the Blue Brocade layer. - Punch 3 5-Petal flowers out of the So Saffron DS paper. Layer these so that the petals are evenly spaced. Sponge edges with So Saffron ink to make the petals pop a little more. Emboss a scrap of Chocolate Chip cardstock with the Canvas background stamp and punch with the 3/4" circle punch. Add this to the centerof the sunflower.
- Punch a few Wild Wasabi petals and sponge for leaves. Trim your Chocolate Chip scrap into a stem. It will look nice either straight or curved. Adhere the flower pieces to your card as shown or otherwise desired.
