Yes, it's been a long time, but I do always eventually come back.
I think it took until the later part of November but I've finally been getting to spend some of my days off at home, even in my stamp studio aka My Pad. While I've been having fun playing with some of Stampin' Up!'s new designs coming out next month and planning my next downline pre Sale-a-bration stamping session, first I need to show you a few of the cards I made the last time our group stamped together:
Can you see the teensy bit of paper piecing in the ornament?
Stamps: Word Play
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Very Vanilla Ultrasmooth, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Tasteful TrimDie, Gumball Green Embossing powder
Techniques: heat embossing, Paper piecing, Big Shot, paper snips
Of course the Be of Good Cheer makes great Christmas cards but I also wanted to see if it could match the tulip card I made with Christmas Jingle paper a few years ago. The little polka dot pattern is so sweet and could easily lend it self to delicate spring greetings. I ended up switching out the stripes from Be of Good Cheer with stripes made with Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations paper and the Stripes Embossing folder.
Did you compare the cards? While Christmas Jingle will always be a favorite I think this one comes pretty close!
