I am a big fan of Bridget Finley's artwork. I loved her combination of poppies with black and white gingham in this card.
When I first received the new Gingham wheel in my Stampin' Up! preorder I had to try that combination myself.
For this first card I simply wheeled the gingham over my Pleasant Poppies image and added a popped up birthday greeting from Label Love, another new set. Letting the underlying poppy stems show through the gingham makes me think of washi tape but maybe it should be that washi tape reminds me of stamping.
- This is a similar card except the gingham is trimmed from another sheet of card stock and layered over the poppies with a double Pear Pizazz seam binding bow.
- The seam binding is from an extra roll I ordered before it retired last year. I brought it to the front of my ribbon drawer now that the color is back. Though seam binding isn't available in this color I would imagine that you could use reinkers to get a similar color.
- The poppies on both cards are stamped on White naturals card stock and colored with Calypso Coral and Pear Pizazz.
