One More Number of Years Card

Here is another Number of Years card from last summer that I haven't posted yet. Last summer my parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

I used silver glimmer paper (135314), the lovely Silver Metallic-Edge ribbon (144213), Silver Foil paper (132178) along with Thick Whisper White Cardstock (140272) and silver embossing powder (109132)

Hello from Arizona!

We've been down in Green Valley, AZ where we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday yesterday. Well, we've actually been celebrating since we arrived last Friday and enjoying beautiful weather.  Anyway, I thought maybe you would like to see the card I made.  After checking out several candle cards online I decided to try my own version:

• I planned the card to use all of the 12 patterns/colors from Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP  (144125) for the candles cutting them 3/8" wide which gave me 4 candles per 12" long strip. 
• The 80 candles cover 2 sheets of Soft Sky (131203) each cut 11" x 4.25" and scored at 5.5": 8 sections with 10 candles each.
• The sections were attached end to end with tape on the back though you may need to reinforce this. It is a long card and the weight may pull the sections apart.
• I used a retired 12 x 12" brown/craft sheet cut to 4 1/4" x 11 1/4" since I needed to allow an extra 1/4" to accomodate the candles. Score at 5 1/2" and 5 3/4".
• The flames were punched from Copper Foil (142020) paper with the Leaf Punch (144667). I colored the based of the flame with a Light Cherry Cobbler Blend(144576).

This photo gives you an idea how shiny it gets with the foil papers.

• The front uses the Large Numbers Framelits (140622), Number of Years stamp set (140653), along with the Foil Frenzy  Specialty DSP (144125).

Just Add Text with Whole Lot of Lovely Duo

I'm out in Salt Lake City, ready to enjoy Onstage Live and thought I would share my swaps.

I was playing with these while the DSP papers were on special in October.

I'm usually not crazy about card sketches with diagonals but a card similar to this caught my eye.  It proved trickier than I though to get just the right pattern, angles and proportions but once I hit on this one featuring the floral print from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper Series I knew I would use it for my swap. It also gave me the perfect setting for this sweet greeting from Just Add Text.

Hints:

• Whisper White Thick Card Stock and Peekaboo Peach, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP
• Flower is from Jar of Love Peekaboo Peach + Melon Mambo + Basic Black on Peekaboo Peach CS applied with a dimensional.
• Leaves are from Oh So Eclectic Bundle but you could use another: Pear Pizzazz on Pear Pizzazz
• White layer measures 2" on top, 3.5" on the bottom
• The top part of the Peekaboo Peach layer measures 1.75" though a bit of it is under the white layer.  These triangles were cut from a 3.75 strip of card stock.  Once I got the pieces figured out I used some washi tape on my trimmer to easily replicate the pieces.
• I cut strips of DSP that were 1 5/8 -1.75" - it's not too fussy as the white layer goes over it.

This variation has the same papers and stamps and uses Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Soft Sky Markers.  There is a little Wink of Stella and  few pearls too. 3/4" is cut from the right edge of the card with a 1" layer of DSP on the inside edge.
