Here is another pencil on Crumb Cake Rose Wonder card:
I had been stamping a bunch of these beautiful Rose Wonder images with my Stamparatus but wasn't having much luck with my Black Archival so I switched to my Tuxedo black Memento to see if it worked better - which it did. But then I couldn't watercolor. So I brought out my watercolor pencils thinking that I would use them without water or a blender pen. This is the second one to get finished.
- I actually colored the whole thing in white first since I found that the Lemon Lime Twist didn't pop quite as well on its own. You might want to break this up - it is a lot of coloring but I really like the look.
- There is a little shading on the white with Pacific Point and Basic Gray pencil. A tiny bit of Rich Razzleberry sketched around the outside of the rose gives a hint of the shadow.
- Rose Wonder is retiring as are the really lovely coordinating Rose Garden thinlets. Make sure you take a look at the Rose Wonder set if you haven't already. It is really a word set as much as a floral set. I have been using the words with some of my Petal Palette cards because it really gives a bigger choice of sentiments.
- The Lemon Lime Twist pencil is from the Lots of Happy Kit which will continue to be available in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. While the cards in the kit are indeed gorgeous, I think I could want it just for the Lemon Lime Twist pencil and the striking stripe envelopes. There is a refill available though you need to get the whole kit to get the pencils.
Well, I'm off to enjoy some more Arizona sunshine. I hope you find some time for stamping, especially if you are in the snowy north.
