Bloom by Bloom is a freshly styled new floral stamp set in the 2019 Occasions catalog. I thought it would be fun to try with Splitcoaststampers' Color Combination today: Lovey Lipstick + Daffodil Delight + Basic Gray.
For this first card I went back to a sketch I've used in the past, along with a greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set I featured last week. As you can see it works with bold blooms as well as it works with softly colored bows. (All Products are listed at the bottom of this post)
- I cut 1 3/4" x 1 3/8" strips of each color and then used tape to put them together in the back.
- You will need to trim a bit off each edge to make it 4" wide. I mounted this on the bottom of a 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White cardstock.
- Stamp the stem in Basic Gray so that it extends from the white onto the colored cardstock.
- Stamp the bloom in Lovely Lipstick and add dots as desired.
- Tie ribbon around this layer before mounting it on Whisper White card.
- Stamp your greeting in Basic Gray.
My next card is somewhat similar, using the large flower and stem as a focal point.
- Instead of the color blocking I used a strip of a bit of stamping I did playing around with most of the 17 images from the Bloom by Bloom set along with the challenges colors.
- I pulled out a wonderful new word set, Strong & Beautiful and used the "You have what it takes to be Unstoppable & I couldn't be more Proud". This is a set that covers Mother's day but also has ideal sentiments that work for parents to children or friend to friend.
- I used both Stitches Shapes and Layering circles framelits for the greeting piece.
- The Lovely Lipstick enamel dots on the greeting piece are from Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots which are in the Happiness Blooms suite along with Bloom by Bloom and other fun products.
I just had to turn this "practice" piece from testing how the stem meets the bloom.
- Can you see that these little dots seem to fit perfectly in the center of the bloom to look like they are the pollen/stamen? While I used the yellow in the others I stuck with Basic Gray, which is a little more striking.
- I pulled the greeting from another inspired greeting set, Part of My Story, which is one of the sets you can earn for free with a $50(US) order during Sale-A-Bration which starts January 3rd.
- I trimmed the piece to 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" and mounted on a Whisper White card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
- This would also look wonderful stamped on one of Stampin' Up!s notecards. #simplestamping
