I needed to get a few packages wrapped this weekend and planned to used a red and white diagonal stripe gift wrap - think candy canes. We don't have many childrens" packages to wrap so I thought it would be playful enough looking for both younger and older "kids". Though there is an adorable Candy Cane stamp set and punch bundle it, unfortunately is not in my stash so I brought out Seasonal Chums which I used earlier this year on my Candy Cane corner card.
- Stamp the snowman stamp from Seasonal Chums with Jet Black Stazon ink on Whisper White cardstock. I was able to stamp 5 of them on a half sheet.
- Cut these out with the corresponding die from Seasonal tags Thinlets.
- Color as desired. Though I often enjoy using Blends I chose Stampin' Write Markers for this project because Blends will bleed through the back which would actually be the inside of my tag. Thus the reason for stamping with Stazon. Remember: alcohol based ink if you are coloring with dye based markers; waterbased ink if you are coloring with Blends or alcohol markers.
- I used Real Red for the scarf and mittens since I wanted to mimic the candy cane pattern of the paper.
- I also used Smoky Slate for the hat with Basic Gray for the "black band" on the hat.
- Balmy blue on just a few edges of the snowman's body adds color without destroying the notion of white snow.
- Stamp to and from on the inside if desired.
- Fold in half a tie a piece of Whisper White through the die cut hole. I leave 3-4" ends to later tie onto a gift.
These last tags include a few with the signpost from Signs of Santa. These were stamped with Black Memento Ink and colored with Blends.
