I am lovin' me some Petal Pink today! I used it to take out the Sale-A-Bration set, Happy Birthday to You, out for a play. This is a set that is available for free with a $50 (US) purchase.
- I stamped the main image, a cake, with Gray Granite ink. Not quite a no line water color look but the outline is nice and subtle for the soft colored Blends I chose: Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron along with just a bit of Mango Melody.
- To be honest, this card with its Seasonal Layers scallops and gingham DSP, on the shelf above my desk for a week while I decided how I wanted to finish the greeting. I knew I didn't want it at the top of the card and if I stamped it on white it would cover up too much of the design.
- Then I recalled that I had Petal Pink Vellum and this proved perfect for letting some of the cake and its stand show through. I used tiny dots of Multi-purpose Liquid Glue applied to the back of the embossed parts of the vellum to attach the greeting without having any adhesive show through.
- I LOVE the Champagne Rhinestones from the Parisian Blossoms Suite but wasn't sure if I wanted the sparkle or if it would look better to keep with the mat finish.
- Another variation I played with was the ribbon. The Petal Pink Metallic-Edge ribbon is another option. This ribbon can also be found in the Parisian Blossom Suite.
- Those Seasonal Layers scallops and the Gingham printed DSP are a combination I could use over and over! I think you will see some more of them...
