This month's Stampin' Dreams theme is all things new and wonderful.
What could be more new and wonderful than a new baby? I've used Stampin' Up!'s new Baby Pull Toys set, along with the new Stitched with Whimsy Dies, to create this cute baby card:
- I was really just playing with this Stitched Whimsy Dies to see what they could do. Then I played around a little more by coloring in some of the stitched areas with a light Crumb Cake Blends Marker.
- The stitched square seemed like a good place to use one of the Baby Pull Toy stamps so I stamped the lion and the greeting - again with Crumb Cake.
- The toy is colored with Blends: Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight. The look I'm going for here is a bit nostalgic so I added more Light Crumb Cake Blends around my image to soften it. When I do this I basically just trace the outline of the image with the bullet tip of the Blends marker.
- I used a Very Vanilla Card base and attached a piece of Night Of Navy embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder which had been inked with white craft ink before running it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss. I've used this folder and technique with daisies in the past and, if you saw my Tuesday post, I've most recently used them for a more masculine Ride the Range duo. If you do try this with any embossing folders I suggest you make several to make the best use of your ink and time before cleaning off the folder. Try different colors and it might inspire a card you had not thought of before! Then I just clean the folder under the faucet.
- Before attaching my stamped image I layered it with a piece of Mango Melody cardstock and tied a little Misty Moonlight Ribbon around it.
Voila!
