Here we are with our first Around the World on Wednesdays blog hop of 2021. My friend Angie has pulled together such a great group of stampers that I hope you have time to grab a cup of coffee (?) and relax with us for a bit.
This month we are sharing one of our favorite source of inspiration. I actually suggested this theme because I love looking for inspiration in some rather unlikely places. Some of my all time favorite cards were inspired by things such as an ad for a color block dress in a fashion magazine, an Art Nouveau bed and breakfast room, or even a men's tie. So I made the suggestion thinking that I'd go back to one of these places for inspiration. Well, they say...best laid plans...
The card I'm sharing today actually IS inspired by my crafting supplies, in this case the Fine Art 3/8" Ribbon. This ribbon is gorgeous! It a Crumb Cake or linen like color which you think could look rather rustic BUT its fairly smooth, fine and has this beautiful, gold thread woven through it. The mini catalog picture can hardly do it justice. You need to touch it! Anyway it inspired me to come up with a card that showed off both the ribbon's Crumb Cake color and the delicate gold threads.
- My floral stamping is all done with Art Gallery stamps with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. The smaller bouquet image was cut out a few times. I went over them a bit with Wink of Stella too.
- The Very Vanilla is embossed with the Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder.
- The greeting is embossed in gold embossing powder but I think you could get away with a Crumb Cake greeting if you prefer. Mine is hand trimmed though there are some great coordinating dies in the Floral Gallery Dies. These are included if you opt for the Art Gallery Bundle.
- A few Forever Gold Laser cut leaflets and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and my card is full of fashion even if it wasn't inspired by a fashion magazine this time...
Here is another view that give a closer look at the shiny gold:

I can't wait to see where some of my favorite stampers find their inspiration. Next on the tour we will see what the talented Brenda Nelson has in store for us:
