I missed last week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge. Even though I had a plan in my head there were just too many non-stamping things going on. It turns out I can try a variation of what I planned for this week's sketch.
Here's a close-up of the focal point:
Soft Sea Foam has been one of my favorite greens lately and I really love the freshness and softness it lends to these colors:
- I sometimes interpret the elements of the sketch rather liberally. For instance, instead of the yellow watercolor like image in the background of the sketch I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder on that layer. It is still a subtle interest behind the focal point. I also played up the green "border". In the sketch it is barely noticeable but I really love to add DSP in really small amounts. The Berry Delightful DSP is part of a bundle with another stamp set, Berry Blessings. If you can swing it the two bundles are wonderful together! You can stretch the DSP by cutting out the center of the "frame" and saving it for another project. I accentuated the DSP and the Soft Sea Foam layer by layering about piece of just barely larger Real Red (1/16" inch or so - one little line on the paper trimmer.
- I had initially tried a white rectangle embossed with Pinewood Planks but then opted to go for the scallops. I though it fit the berry theme a little better.
- The white strawberry blossom is what actually led me towards the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. I knew it would be perfect for the circle element. This stamp set has two blossoms. The smallest can be punched with the Strawberry Builder punch. The larger bloom works with the Small Bloom Punch. I embellished the center with a Playing with Patterns Resin Dot - in Daffodil Delight. Doesn't it look right at home there?
