Have you had a chance to take a look at Snail Mail Suite, one of the collections in this year's January - June 2021 Mini Catalog? I brought this along to play with during a recent winter trip and did lots of coloring.
- Most of these were colored by first filling in all the large spaces with the Blends alcohol markers. Then I came back and added the detail with the watercolor pencils.
- This can be kind of addicting... I wouldn't want to suggest to a beginning stamper that they needed both the Blends and the pencils, BUT, if you have them both DO try them together.
- Do apply the Blends first as I'm not sure whether it would be good for the brush tips of the Blends to be going over the watercolor pencil. Then go back and add shadows, intensity and detail with the pencils. You can keep going back to add intensity to your shadows with out worrying about the bleeding you might see if you use alcohol markers to do this.
- They are all cut out now and one has even made it onto a card so far:
- This was my first time using the Oh, So Ombre 6"x6" DSP that is one of the free choices with a $50(US) order. It come is 4 colors: Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green and Rococo Rose and each of those colors has 4 patterns. I love this look so much I'm glad I was able to earn an extra pack. If you are reading this before March 1, 2021 there is a chance you can still snag some. If not, I would try to recreate it with a blending brush and some Bermuda Bay ink. It will take a little longer but makes such an effective background. A little more interesting than a solid color but it doesn't detract from your focal point image, in this case my cute little snail.
- Finish off the snail with some Wink of Stella and mount it on one of these postage stamp shapes cut with the bundles dies.
- Some resin hearts and a little ribbon from the Greenery Trim pack finish off this adorable card.
