I have a quick post today and then will share a blog hop for your Sunday perusal. So, grab a cuppa and get ready...
This card features a technique I first tried out last fall. I thought that some of the beautiful papers in the Friendly Hello Sale-a-bration collection would be fun to use while trying it again. these stamps and coordinating papers are one of the choices you can get when you order $100 worth of stamping supplies from Stampin' Up! during Sale-a-bration, which runs through February 28th.
- The "lacey" look to the background is done by using the detailed floral die from the Penned Petals Dies. (These dies can be purchased alone or as part of a bundle with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. You need about 4 of the detailed flowers. Use the adhesive sheets if you have them. Otherwise a sponge and some Multipurpose Liquid adhesive will do the trick.
- I used my one of my Blending Brushes to apply a little Pool Party to the front of my card base.
- The main images from the Friendly Hello stamp set were stamped in Basic Gray ink and colored with the Pool Party and Smoky Slate Blends Combos. Then these are fussy cut.
- Layer over a scalloped rectangle from Scalloped Contours Dies and a piece of vellum cardstock.
- Embellish with Artistry Blooms Adhesive backed Sequins.
