I have a few favorite card sketches that call for just portions of an image and today's card uses one of them:
- Measurements for this card include a 8.5" x 5.5" Basic White card base, 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock, 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" piece of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (DSP) in pattern shown or your preference. You will also need 1-2 floral die cuts from the DSP plus 1-2 fussy cut images from the same sheet. To make the best use of your DSP a couple of these should come from the edge. Thick Basic White card stock will be needed to cut the ovals and a leaflet.
- I do paper shares with my team and often look for ways to use the 6" x 6" pieces I distribute. It's sometimes hard to cut through images when dividing the 12" x 12" pieces but knowing you can still use them in cards like this makes it a little easier!
- When I'm using a whole die cut DSP image I often cut an extra plain card stock die cut of the same image so that I can layer them for a sturdier image that can be popped up or at least add a little more dimension.
- Die cut your oval shapes and the leaflet out of the thick Basic White. Add your greeting in Soft Succulent. I added some subtle blending with a little Soft Succulent that was left on my brush. This is optional!
- Layer your 3 7/8" x 5 1/4" Soft Succulent DSP over the Evening Evergreen layer. Before adhering it to your card add the ovals and florals as shown so that you can trim off anything that extends beyond the edge.
- Adhere these layers to your Basic White card base. Add a few Soft Succulent Opal Rounds and you have a beautiful birthday (or whatever sentiment you choose) card!
