Can we talk a bit about Glorious Gingham? This 6"x 6" DSP comes in a pack with 5 colors: Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lime Twist and Pretty Peacock and it's retiring in just a few days. I have a spare pack for myself and I thought I'd let you know why.
One of my favorite things about it is that one side is a diagonal check which is one of my favorite ways to add borders to a card. (Oops! It appears that all of my cards show this side but I think I'll be able to remedy that with the new Country Flowers set.)
Often I use it in small amounts so it does go a long way.
It plays nicely with any other DSP pattern that includes its color. The Masterfully Made DSP, featured here, is 30% off.
If you don't want the crisp check with white look you can use your blender brush to add more of the color for a deeper look with shades of the color. I've also done this when I want to pair it with Very Vanilla instead of white as I did with the Ice Cream Swirl and Blueberry Bushel cards above and also with this sympathy card:
I was looking through photos for these cards and came across a project I was planning with the gingham and Trucking Along Bundle and then the bundle went on a rather prolonged backorder. The bundle is available and here are some of the planning shots I took. They will give you a better idea of the paper and also some color ideas if you have or are interested in the Trucking Along Bundle.
As I look to what is available in this look with the new Annual Catalog I only see one diagonal plaid which comes in Blackberry Bliss in the To Market Suite. I expect we will see more come and go but this is a color mix that is really versatile so give it a thought while it is still available at 20% off. If you think it should find a place in your stash, you can get it through my store which has a link in the menu bar above. Or click on any of the products at the end of this post. While you are in the shop, do check out some of the other great bargains including the Paper Florist Dies shown below with the Pretty Peacock plaid in one of my "tablecloth corner" cards.
I so appreciate that you took the time as you visit my blog today. Let me know what you think and come back again soon! Feel free to ask questions if something isn't clear.
