Yes, It's been a while. Family stuff, travel ... but I'm back with the Around the World on Wednesday crew and an awesome sketch challenge.
And. Here's the sketch:
I decided I should start using up a stash of colored images that I did when we recently took a trip to Alaska for a wedding followed by a cruise to Vancouver. I had packed a small stack of images and theses Blends and Watercolor Pencils:
As you can see it was a pretty easy way to pack. I brought just some of the light colored Blends to put a quick wash of color on the images and then added more detail and depth with the pencils. Though they are watercolor pencils and could work beautifully with water I just used them dry. The images were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Once I came home and trimmed or die cut them I ended up with these:
I decided to use the stockings and the coordinating Sentimental Christmas designer papers for the sketch. I'd been thinking it would be fun to use the horizontal strip in the sketch for the greeting and wanted to play up the candy cane stripes a bit. Flipping through the papers I knew I had to tweak the vertical layer of the sketch to incorporate a fussy cut strip of these pretty ribbons.
This is really fun paper to play with. An extra bonus is that when you purchase this paper you will be supporting childrens's literacy!
That's it for me. Now it's time to continue on the hop. Next up is Theresa. I can't wait to see what she has for us!
