And still ... it's been a while but I'm back with the Around the World on Wednesday crew and a great theme of This or That. I can't wait to see all the possibilities!
I've spent the past few days with some fellow team members having some dedicated time with some of Stampin' Up!'s just launched January - April Mini Catalog and decided to come up with some this or that projects while we stamped. Since I'm always a bit torn between playing with a new suite in total - with the beautiful designer series papers (DSP), accessories and suggested colors, it isn't long before I'm wondering what other products and colors I might bring into the mix. This is how I decided to approach the Floral Delight Suite with it's featured Delightful Wishes Bundle.
For the first card I focused on colors and products featured in the suite:
- The little flowers in this set are intended to be forsythia, an early flower that blooms before its leaves bud out. They are so refreshing to see after dreary late winter days. I used Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pool Party, all colors in the suite's DSP and beautiful vellum.
- I'm a sucker for gingham and thought a bit of this Daffodil Delight print would go along way in bringing someone some sunshine.
- Four stamps are involved in creating the sprig image and I was happy to see how beautifully and easily they lined up - this was the first one I stamped.
- Another feature of this bundle that made it an easy first choice for me was the layered die cut "wishing". I just love the fine wording with an extra layer.
- And, what do you think of these cute little bees!
For an alternate project I switched up the colors to use another combination I had sitting on my desk: Boho Blue, Lost Lagoon, Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop:
- I looked outside of the suite to accessorize this version. Aside from the colors I chose to use a die cut border from the Ocean Friends Dies, cutting it from Boho Blue to accent the striped DSP from a package of 2024-2026 In Color DSP in Petunia Pop.
- The ribbon is a Sale-a-bration freebie - a pretty crinkled seam binding in Fresh Freesia.
- The pretty little dots are 2024 - 2026 In Color Shimmer Dots from the Annual Catalog. (Hurry, they are currently on low inventory...)
What do you think? I might lean a bit towards the first one. The suite's colors are so happy with the yellow and blue and I really do have a preference for for white card bases... But then again I prefer the ribbon ties just around the panel - not the whole card - as I did in the first one. At any rate I had fun creating these after having an extra long break from my craft room...
That's it for me. Now it's time to continue on the hop. Next up is Tricia Butts. I can't wait to see what she has for us!
I so appreciate that you took the time as you visit my blog today. Let me know what you think and come back again soon! Feel free to ask questions if something isn't clear.
