Another Birthday Cheer Card

Today I have another Birthday Cheer card, this one featuring just the stamp set with the fun to color stamped images.

I stamped the gift and the greeting with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a quarter sheet of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the hat on a scrap of the same cardstock.
Both images were colored with Bermuda Bay and Lovely Lipstick Blends combo. The light Lovely Lipstick stands in pretty well for Melon Mambo.
The gift and greeting piece was trimmed with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and layered onto a piece of the diagonally striped Melon Mambo designer series paper from How Sweet It Is.

The party hat was hand cut, aka fussy cut, and attached at an angle with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Varying sizes of Glitter Enamel dots were added for a little more pizzazz.

Birthday Cheer with Blended Backgrounds

I've got two adorable birthday cards to share with you today. Both feature the Blended Background technique I shared with you on Monday and the Birthday Cheer Bundle.

This is what my sponging palette for today's cards looks like. I showed this technique on Sunday's Facebook Live. Mixing the refill ink with Whisper White Craft ink makes the ink so easy to spread on your cardstock and blend with other colors. Though today's cards will show embossing on the finished backgrounds I've also had good success stamping with our classic or dye ink on the backgrounds. The colors stay relatively true.

Let's get to that first card:

I used Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo refill inks. Each was mixed with Whisper White craft refill. You can make the colors lighter or darker depending on the ratio you use. I usually start with a dime sized amount of white and 2-3 drops of classic refill and go from there.
I trimmed off 1/4" from each side of my finished 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" back ground, and flipped them around to go the opposite direction before attaching them back together with cellophane tape on the back.
Emboss the greeting and add the Whisper White die cut, enamel dots and ribbon and voila - you have an adorable birthday card!

I added the ribbon yesterday when the organdy ribbon collection was available. Sadly, it has run out. I decided to show it this way anyway because I know some of you have this ribbon and have it coming. It will still be a pretty card without the ribbon.

I had to do another one of these cards with the cupcakes to enter in this week's Global Design Project Challenge:

I think that these cupcakes could certainly be sweeter than candy!

This card was made pretty much the same way as the gift die cut card except that I omitted the Daffodil Delight and the ribbon.
I also substituted the "Make A Wish" greeting from the Life is Grand stamp. Both the Birthday Cheer Bundle and the Life is Grand stamp set can be found in the Occasions catalog. You can also easily check them out or purchase them by clicking on them in my project list at the end of this post.

Wood Ring Twist

Hello stampers! I hope you are having a good weekend. Today I'm sharing a card that I actually started last summer. Two different challenges inspired me to dig out this piece that I started coloring on a road trip:

Here is the challenge that inspired me to hunt around for that piece...

... and here is the challenge that inspired me to make my card a mixed media AND CAS card.

I thought the colors and the circle images mimicked the rainbow background in Steffi's Global Design Project card. The CAS Mix Up challenge lists several methods/media and you need to use at least 2. I used alcohol inks (Blends), Heat embossing(both white and clear), and, of course, die-cutting.

I stamped the Tree Rings background stamp in Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and colored with numerous Blends, all in the Brights family. The centers were done with the darker colors. I did not know what I would be using this for when I colored it. I just wondered what it would look like in colors other than traditional wood tones.
I cut the piece in two thinking I might make one card for each challenge but this card came together so well using both challenges that I now have an extra piece for another project.
I used Glad Press 'N Seal to keep all of the "positive" and "negative" pieces from the "celebrate" die cut. This die is from the Celebrate You thinlet set. You need the leftover pieces from the e's, l and r to be on the background.
The patterned "celebrate" was clear embossed with Versamark and clear embossing powder.
I added 4 additional Basic Black behind my embossed "celebrate"s to add dimension.
You Deserve It! (from Birthday Cheer - in the Occasions catalog) was embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed and cut into pieces to adhere to the bottom of my panel.
The panel is layered on to Basic Black cardstock so that it would be stiffer to pop up on my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
This could be a birthday, graduation or congratulations card.

Quick Birthday Gift Enclosure

I've got the quickest little gift enclosure for you today:

The Happiness Blooms Memories and More Cards and Envelopes are designed to work with the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack and they make really quick cards.
These cards and envelopes have a small card made to use with the 3" x 4" cards from Memories and More and a larger card meant to be used with the larger 4" x 6". These layer perfectly. Though they are currently backordered they are scheduled to be back in stock February 4th. Night of Navy on the outside/ Whisper White on the inside. Night of Navy and White stripes on the inside flap of the envelope. So much fun!

The Birthday Birthday Edgelits fit just about perfectly. I use a sponge to apply Multi-purpose adhesive. Then you'll just trim off a tiny bit of the border off. Stamp or handwrite your birthday greeting. Easy as pie!
