Have you been thinking about Halloween projects? If the answer is yes, this post is for you. I've got a little bit of everything from the array of Halloween products in Stampin' Up!'s 2018 Holiday catalog.
The Toil and Trouble Suite - I had great fun getting acquainted with the new blends (especially Basic Black and Mango Melody, which are part of the suite.
The Gorgeous Grape watercolor panel that I planned to put under this witch seemed a little bright so I softened it with a sheet of vellum. Notice how I had several of the die cut images extend beyond the Gorgeous Grape background onto the Basic Gray stenciled card base. The Take Your Pick tool is perfect for applying all those tiny stars. The stars were cut out of watercolor paper with Lemon Lime Twist, giving them variation in depth of color.
The spider web is cut from Silver foil paper. The textured bricks behind the cauldron were done with Shimmery White embossing powder with a little Smoky Slate refill added. I love this look.
One more Cauldron Bubble Card, a little lighter and brighter:
I used the large circle from the Swirly Frames stamp set to focus on the cauldron. And you seriously have to see the Glittered Organdy Ribbon. It. Is. So. Sparkly!
Since it inspired my bat card further down my post, I thought I would make a revision of the simple Spooky Cat card I had so much success with last year. It has an updated greeting from Cauldron Bubble along with that mischevious little cat face. The original card is here.
Here is the bat version of this idea: The bats are punched out of the moon.
This card gave me a time time when I tried to take a phot0. The base is Smoky Slate cardstock. Next it has a layer of Black Foil and on top of that a slightly smaller layer of Basic Black cardstock. There is a 2" circle punched out of the Basic Black cardstock so that the bats punched out of Galvanized Metallic paper will be shiny instead of the mat black of the cardstock. The moon is embossed with the greeting and has some cloud like images stamped on the edges. Once again I polished it off with the glittered ribbon.
A step back from the sparkly here. I used black Bakers' Twine to polish off this Cute hound who found a home atop a leftover piece of Buffalo Checked Old Olive. The inspiration for the layout came from last weeks' Splitcoaststampers' Sketch Challenge #718
I'm going to wrap this Halloween post up with a cute little take out box - with sparkly bats:
The 2 pieces needed for the takeout box can be cut from a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock (a half sheet). A touch of Wink of Stella lends some sparkly goodness, echoing the sparkles on the ribbon.
Well that's it for my Halloween projects for this year. I hope I've given you some ideas for your own creations.
It's October! If you place a minimum $40 (US) order using the hostess code, X9QJNMFF, I will send you the Metallic Pearls for FREE. You can see them on page 197 of the Annual catalog. If you place a $150 or greater order please don't use the hostess code. You will still receive the gift but you will also get your own hostess benefits.
