I'm blog hoping today with Angie Mackenzie's Stamping Inkspirations Blog hop.
This month our theme is a great sketch:
I thought that this sketch would lend itself beautifully with the Joyful Flurry Bundle and I found this combination to be so successful I made a couple of cards.
The first card uses my original idea of featuring the 3-D type cut out created by one of the Frosted Flurry dies that doesn't simply cut out a snowflake but cuts bits of the snowflake partially out of the paper.
- When I looked at the greeting, " It's a season of magic & wonder", I thought right away about using glimmer paper in Orchic Oasis peeking out from behind the torn edges.
- The Wintry 3D embossing folders help carry out the magical snowflake theme.
- The edges of the Basic White card base get a little ink with a Blending Brush. The ombre effect mimics the glimmer. I wanted to keep the glimmer to the middle of the card so the edges just have a matte look.
I changed things up a bit with the second card which features some of the In Color 2022-2024 DSP in the same Orchid Oasis color of the previous card:
- I decided white on white circles would be a fun change up for this stamped snowflake.
- Instead of Glimmer paper, this card uses some of the Orchid Oasis (2022-2024 In Color). The pattern shown looks a little like snowflakes and the flip side is the pretty diagonal plaid shown at the edges of the card.
- The smaller, glimmer snowflakes are die cut from the same glimmer paper as the previous card. They are "extra embellished" with a few Orchid Oasis Matte Dots.
