Soft Sky Dragon

On any given day the subjects may or may not be related to my blog post.  I'm sharing a Pinterest board, Magical Day Inspiration. I have collected more ideas for magical set than I will ever use so maybe you can make use of them.

Here is a fairly simple little dragon card I made last night. I still have to pick out a dragon greeting to use.  Did you know Pinterest lets you organize a board with sections? So, I have a section just for dragon greetings.

• This guy was a little Wink of Stella on his wings.
• The Powder Pink Tinsel Trim (page 19 of the Occasions catty) has a purple or plum hue that looks great with the Rich Razzleberry wings.
• Coloring is with Blends.
• A slim strip of Soft Sky Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP adds a little sparkle to the Tutti Frutti card base. These cards are a Sale-A-Bration item that is only available for a few more days. I'm on my second pack already.

 

Let's Have a Magical Day

I'm back to show you another set that plays well with the Bubbles and Fizz DSP that is available during Sale-A-Bration and here it is:

Aren't these stars perfect for our little paper-pieced wizard?

• This card features the Magical Day Bundle (145985 clear) (145984 wood).
• Choose the section of the paper you wish to use to paper pierce the wizard carefully.  The stars are a bit irregular and you want to make sure you capture a good number of them in the wizard robe and hat.
• I used touches of the turquoise Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper (145601) - little die cut stars, the tiny scalloped border (Layering Circles), and the banner which is cut with a die and then cut into three pieces with just the 2 side pieces attached behind the edges of the Whisper White Banner that had been die cut with the same banner die. Cut a second circle out of the scallop so you can use it for another project.
• I used Smoky Slate, bronze and the color lifter Blends or the wizards face and beard.
• What do you think of the Soft Sky layer that softens the contrast between the Bermuda Bay of the DSP and the Whisper White card base? So often we use a darker layer underneath. I was happy with the look and will have to look for other opportunities to try this.
