There are a lot of Valentine type stamps in Stampin' Up!'s big Annual Catalog and today I'm going to share a card I did with Modern Heart along with one of my favorite "accessory" stamps, Swirly Frames:
Isn't it colorful?
- The only stamping on the base of this card makes use of a little double line stamp from Swirly Frames. It is pretty easy to line each image up according to the image stamped above it. I filled the double line with a little bit of black marker.
- You will need a 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" panel for the main design. Then just a skinny piece of Black foil to make the colors pop against the Black and White border. You could do this with Basic Black cardstock if you don't have the foil.
- For the Panel you will need to stamp the little rectangular box with Swirly Frames, add the greeting from Modern Heart and then mask the rectangle before stamping the hearts over the mask. This results in the appearance of the hearts lying behind the frame.
- There are so many ways to color this faceted heart. I used Rich Razzleberry, Lovely Lipstick, Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, and Pumpkin Pie. I imagined which lines would form stripes in the heart and followed them with my colors, applying the darker colors near the edges. A thin line of Light Smoky Slate outlines each large heart, along with the frame. Smaller hearts were colored with Mango Melody.
- A rhinestone from The Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels adds just a bit of bling.
