After attending Stampin' Up!'s Onstage Live in Salt Lake City last month I was excited to pre-order Bubble Over. I usually don't need much of an excuse to order anything but I really wanted to use this set to make a card for my husband's birthday at the end of November. Yes! I have 2cards to make for special guys within a few days of each other just as the holidays get going. I have to admit they often fall through the cracks. But this year I got both of them done!
While I will also have fun using this set for others whether they are beer lovers or pop fanatics (That's right - I AM from MN!) DH has never liked beer. He's actually tried it several times because all three of our kids enjoy trying different kinds and craft breweries are opening up all over our neighborhood in Downtown/Lowertown St Paul. But alas, neither of us like it. What we do like, though, is hard cider. About a year ago one of our local pubs had Ciderboys First Press on tap and it has been DH's favorite ever since!
All this to explain why I needed to use Bubble Over to make bottles that would pass for Ciderboys.
- I clear-embossed the bottles on Early Espresso. A hint for die-cutting heat embossed pieces: Use a newer plate as the embossed surface tends to pulls out the little bits of paper that are left in your plate
- Wisteria Wonder was a good match for the background of this label. I used the Hardwood background stamp to give it texture similar to the actual label.
- I cut the "bigger" apple out of the Tutti Frutti DSP stack - the smaller one is from a retired punch. Sponging the label edges and bottle caps (Cherry Cobbler) give depth.
- I love the Tutti Frutti DSP so much that I've changed my mind about getting the Fruit Basket Bundle and added it my December order...
- Another convenient aspect of the Bottles and Bubbles Framelits is that there are 2 bottle cap dies for each size bottle. I've noticed that this is true of several other framelit sets that have tiny pieces from the Occasions 2018 catalog. Not only do you have a spare if one gets lost but you can cut two at a time of images that you often would want to have in multiples. Thanks Stampin' Up!
Until next time...
